Recently, a High School in New York State had to close for an entire day due to significant flooding caused by a faulty drinking fountain.
Over the weekend, a drinking fountain on the second floor of the building malfunctioned, causing water to seep down through the ceiling. Ceiling tiles and some school equipment were damaged. School officials are still working to determine the cost of the damage.
While some of the students might have been happy with no school for a day, this is no laughing matter. When plumbing leaks occur on a second floor or higher, the cost of the damage and all that comes with it can be enormous.
