With all the heavy rains and flooding hitting the central United States this week, it’s not surprising to see an upsetting story like this one. The moral of this story is that just because your town or municipality can’t remove flood waters quickly enough

because of a backed up storm drains due to heavy rains, it doesn’t mean they will take responsibility for resulting damages to your home. Unless you have the right insurance coverage for flooding and water damage, you may find yourself paying dearly for it like this unfortunate Washington woman.
